Brooklyn Boulders Somerville is hosting its first bouldering competition in over a year - Somerslam 2021!

Did you miss bouldering comps? Well, bouldering comps missed you too. On Saturday, August 28th, Brooklyn Boulders Somerville will be hosting its first climbing competition in over a year. 

This competition is all ages. All competitor tickets come with 1 free spectator ticket. Please make sure both yourself and your guest have filled out a Liability Waiver for the Somerville location beforehand.

Schedule on Saturday, August 28th:

10AM – 12PM: Youth

1:30PM – 3:30PM: Round 1

4PM – 6PM: Round 2

6PM – 9PM: Afterparty with Aeronaut and Carolicious

Fun prizes from Sterling and more. You have 2 hours to climb as many boulders as you can! You will receive points for control of zones (marked with a striped tape flash) and tops (marked with a single tape flash). Your final score will be the total of ALL of your climbs.

RULES:

 4 Point Starts: You must establish with a limb on each taped start hold before continuing up the climb

 You must show control of the zone to get points

 You must control the top for 2 seconds to get points

 3 Attempts per boulder

 All attempts must be witnessed for a score

 Zone points only count once per boulder

 Be mindful of other climbers
